Who we are

Local, and small on purpose

Ten Mile Electric is a small crew working a defined area. That is a deliberate choice rather than a limitation, and it is the reason we can usually answer the phone on the first ring, quote a job the day we see it, and send the same people back if something needs a second look.

Most of our work sits in three counties: Summit and Eagle. Knowing a service area properly matters more here than it does on the Front Range. We know which buildings have panels that were undersized twenty years ago, which HOA boards need a plan submitted before a charger goes in, and which towns permit separately from their counties.

The work runs from a dead outlet to a new service entrance trenched into an open build site. Residential repairs and remodels, commercial buildouts and service panels, solar array wiring and interconnection, and ongoing work for property managers who would rather call one number than three.

A large share of it is for people who are not in Colorado when something fails. Second-home owners, short-term rental operators, and anyone whose condo has renters in it and no power. That work needs coordination as much as it needs an electrician, so we handle access, approvals and photographs of the finished job as a matter of course.

The people

Who is coming to your house

Two names come up again and again in our reviews, because these are the people who answer the phone and do the work. Not a subcontractor you have never heard of and will never see again.

Matt

Owner

Matt McDonough owns Ten Mile Electric and is usually the person who picks up, comes out to look at the job, and gets you a written price. Customers describe him responding the same day, coming out to plan the work, and having an estimate in hand before he leaves.

TJ

Electrician

TJ is the name customers use most when describing the work itself. Arriving exactly on time, sourcing the right breaker and outlet for a new induction range, and working non-stop through a short window when a job has to be finished in one visit.

How we work

Five things we do every time

01

You know who is coming

We text when a technician is on the way and send a photo of who to expect at the door. It matters more than it should when you are handing over access to a building you are not standing in.

02

The price comes first

Estimates on installations are free and everything is priced in writing before work starts. If we open a wall and find something unexpected, we stop and call you rather than adding it to the invoice.

03

We handle the paperwork

Permits where the job requires one and inspections coordinated. Where an HOA board has to sign off, we do not file their paperwork — every board runs to different rules — but we give you what they ask for and answer their questions.

04

The finish gets attention

Conduit paint-matched where it shows, circuit directories labeled so the next person can read them, and the site swept before we leave. The parts nobody checks are the parts we get asked about.

05

You reach the same people afterwards

If something is not right after we leave, you call the same number and get the crew who did the work. That is the practical difference between a local electrician and a dispatch service.
